Speaking from experince it wasn't that great...it was a stifled naive world with a whole lot less going for it than we have today...it would be like spending your life in New York City with all it has to offer then suddenly being thrust into a place like, well, Wasilla, Alaska, not much there for fun but one movie theater and the local library (not intending to put down what I am sure are the otherwise fine people of Wassila, it's just a metaphor)...
