Default Re: Doctors orders...quit cigarettes!

probably for the best. quitting wasn't really as hard as everyone makes it seem. I used the patch and never felt any physical or emotional discomfort. made me wonder why I hadn't quit sooner.

The hardest part about quitting isn't the actual quitting itself but fighting the urge to cheat. It is so easy to cheat and fall back into the habit. You bum a smoke from a friend, then you start to borrow a smoke every time you're around someone who is smoking and eventually you get tired of borrowing other people's cigarettes and buy yourself a pack.

cigars have kept me on the right track. I didn't smoke cigars while I was quitting cigarettes though. Probably didn't have any for 2-3 months. yes, it was hell. I didn't miss the cigs at all, but jeez. no cigars!!?

now I smoke between 1-4 cigars per week, mostly on weekends and it is probably the one thing I look forward to the most about Friday nights.

good luck! I don't know how that Chantix might affect your cigar experiences though. It might be a good idea to at least suspend cigar smoking temporarily until you're done with the medication.
