The clear liquid could have been just water from your condensate line (air conditioning). Headlights - most likely battery, alternator, charging system, etc.

Stop by the shop of your choice and have them run a diagnostics on the charging system.

You can get yellow/orange out of halogen headlights if the voltage drops sufficiently, although it won't be anywhere near as bright as they are during "normal" operation. Really not that much different than dimming a halogen lamp or fixture that you might find in your home or office.


Need more info though...

...what color is the car?
