| Just in from the Storm | Smoking and Music

Hopefully this hasn't been done before. I was going to put this in the music/movies section but that seemed to primarily just be about movies and music as opposed to cigars. So if you aren't in a social gathering, or even if you are, what kind of music suits you while smoking? I know some people smoke in silence, but that's too boring for me most of the time

Out on the deck in the summer, I tend to turn to 60s and 70s Motown.

Everything from Texas Country to Rock to audio books or watching Netflix. Was great catching up on Mad Men while smoking.

Lately I have been listening to thecigarstation.com on my phone, nothing out of the ordinary, but relaxing music and every now and then they will talk cigars. If I had a shop this would be on 24/7.

The local college radio station used to play classical from 8ish until 11ish. I usually tuned into that and felt like the classiest man on earth. Now I usually just put on some trance music and read on my kindle :/ Posted via Mobile Device |

Blues, jazz, rock, pop, talk radio and audio books mostly. Although I did buy Compay Segundo simply for the sake of listening to him while smoking. Listen to his music all the time.

I use the Pandora app on my phone and blast some Petty, Springsteen, Stones, alot of classic rock. And some new southern rock, like the Drive By Truckers.

Two Pandora stations are my favorite while smoking...Reggae and Hawaiian. Those two genres go very well with the relaxation of enjoying a cigar. Occasionally I'll throw on the Frank Sinatra station, but it's usually the other two |

Generally something relaxing. During the day I'll bring out the speaker and play some classic rock with my roommates out on the porch with me. At night I'll generally switch to some of my relaxing stuff(Damion Suomi, Frank Turner, Johnny Flynn, Wadi Rum, etc)

In the summer, I love listening to baseball games on satellite out on the back deck while smoking. Other than that, I stream a bunch of indie rock while having a cigar.
